Book Recommendation: The Four Agreements

If you want to learn about healing self-limiting beliefs and how to create a new code of conduct for personal fulfillment -- read the book The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book by Don Miguel Ruiz. He teaches wisdom learned from a Toltec Indian Shaman. This is a great gift for anyone who wants to make changes in their life.

Oprah Magazine reviewed The Four Agreements in O Magazine and on Oprah's Favorite Things in 2000.

The Four Agreements
(Peace that passeth all understanding)

1. Be impeccable with your words. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using words to speak against yourself or to gossip. Use the power of your words for truth and love.
2. Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What they say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own vision. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
3. Don’t make assumptions. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others or, as clearly as you can, to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
4. Always do your best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are health as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
