Take Time for Yourself
No matter what type of therapist I've worked with, each one has the same recommendation -- Take Time for Yourself on a Daily Basis. It may be 15 minutes of a bubble bath. It might be jogging for a half hour. It might be finding a babysitter for the kids and going to dinner with friends. Whatever you do, if you are not taking time for self-renewal, you are going to come to a point where you find all of your personal resources depleted. No one else can renew you -- you have to renew yourself. You should be a priority in your own life. That's not to say that you only think of yourself. It means that you nurture yourself, so you are prepared to help others when they have needs.
